Since then, the recently-formed ensemble Duo Kalysta has been sharing this passion with audiences throughout Canada and is quickly gaining celebrated status as a young duo with an exceptional musical connection. In October 2013, the pair won the esteemed Classical Concerto Competition at McGill University and were featured as soloists with the McGill Symphony Orchestra, where they performed Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp under the baton of Maestro Alexis Hauser. The following spring, Duo Kalysta was invited to perform as part of the Christ Church Beaurepaire Concert Series in Beaconsfield, Quebec.
In addition to their love for performing, Duo Kalysta is also devoted to sharing their music outside of the traditional concert hall boundaries: in classrooms, cafés, as well as through various media platforms. They have completed several recording projects, mostly notably a set of three music videos for noncerto that will be released in the spring of 2015. Recently, Duo Kalysta was awarded the Goyer Canadian Composition Award and, as result, they will be recording the premiere of a new work by Montreal composer Matthias Maute in another set of music videos this summer.
